PART 1: IMAGE FORMATS ACTIVITY: a) Find out the most common formats for images and write a short description of the features of each of them.  A computer file extension is commonly a three character addition that follows the name of a file. A few of the more common file extensions include EXE, DOC or DOCX, XLS, TXT, PDF, and MP3. There are dozens of different image types and image file extensions that can be used when creating and saving images on the computer. Below is a list of the most common image file extensions: ➥   .ai - Adobe Illustrator file ➥   .bmp - Bitmap image ➥   .gif - GIF image ➥   .ico - Icon file ➥ .jpeg or .jpg - Jpeg image ➥ .png - PNG image ➥ .ps - PostScript file ➥ .psd - PSD image ➥ .svg - Scalable Vector Graphics file ➥ .tif or .tiff - TIFF image     b) Which image format preserves the quality better when it is compressed?
